Allen (알란, Allan) is a member of the Night Awls.

Appearance

Allen has short slicked-back black hair which exposes the scar on his forehead. He has a rather solemn-looking expression with grey eyes. He wears a slightly different uniform compared to the other Night Awl members, indicating his higher rank. For the uniform, he wears a long black coat which extends to his ankle that hangs on his shoulders. Beneath the coat, he wears a white dress shirt, a gray buttoned waistcoat with white stripes, and a black tie tucked underneath it. He has black pants accompanied with black dress shoes.

Furthermore, his right leg is missing from the calf and is instead replaced with a peg leg featuring a sharp end point, which he occasionally uses in battle, as shown on his exclusive combat page. Additionally, he also wields a stiletto held in his right hand which he mainly uses during combat.

Personality

Allen is rather jaded and tired, speaking with a blunt tone and not hesitating to tell the other members they're dragging the crew down. On top of this, he's calm and coolheaded even when told that the members of the Night Awls would be purged after the insolence of his boss. However, from one of his victory cry lines, he's shown to be concerned over the wellbeing of the others, hinting at a more caring side of his personality.

Story

Allen and the rest of the Night Awls are an optional General Reception able to be invited to the Library by sending out two books from the first row of the  Star of the City chapters and as such does not appear in the main story. However, as shown in the first episode of The Thumb, the leader of the Night Awls questions the orders of the capo dei capi and is beheaded immediately for his disobedience. As a result, Kalo orders for every member of the Night Awls to be purged. And as such, Allen and the rest of the Night Awls sign an invitation to the Library, most likely to collect useful information for The Thumb to be given a lesser punishment than to be purged.

The message we got wasn’t unexpected. The boss of our organization had always been a rash one, and he’d no patience with injustice or for his own curiosity. It was a miracle that he managed to stay under the Thumb for so long. I told him to be more careful since his words and actions as the boss will affect his underlings as well, yet here we are… I thought I’d flip my lid at hearing the news, but I didn’t feel as much anger as I expected to. The only thought that came to my mind was that he’d finally done it. With my head cool, I calmly considered my next move. At least some of us’ll make it outta here thanks to the early warning.
