- Dias' name is derived from Ozymandias, the Greek name for Ramesses II, the Egyptian pharaoh most frequently hypothesized to be the pharaoh in the Book of Exodus.
- In the Book of Exodus, the prophet Moses was found along the river and adopted by the pharaoh's daughter. Raised among the royal family, Moses would eventually be at odds with the pharaoh in his mission to free the Israelites.
- Dias' name may additionally be in reference to Percy Shelley's work Ozymandias.
- A graphic in The Distortion Detective featuring Dias contains the words Usermaatre Setepenre, the throne name for multiple pharaohs, including Ramesses II.
