Dino
“ | That's one more option for us. You've done it again... Flew into a blind rage and crushed their bones and guts to a pulp. | ” |
–Dino |
Dino is a member of the Stray Dogs. He first appears in the same Chapter, Episode 1.
Appearance
Dino has dark skin with tattoos seen on his arms, shoulders, and the side of his stomach. He is shirtless, wearing only a pair of dark blue pants and grey shoes. He also wears a number of spiked accessories, including a collar, a bracelet, and a belt. He fights with his bare fists, strengthened by his combat augment tattoos.
Personality
Between himself, Gyeong-mi, and Zulu, Dino is the most level-headed and analytical, to a cautious degree. He tries to avoid actions done out of blind rage and also tries to stop the others (namely Gyeong-mi) from doing so. Dino is also highly self-assured against enemies who he views as weaker than him.
Story
Background
Dino has been part of the Stray Dogs for an unknown amount of time. He was convinced to get tattoos due to Gyeong-mi, who pushed him to do so, though he notes that he is satisfied with the results. He, Gyeong-mi, and Zulu recently made a deal with Walter, director of the Zwei Association's South Section 6, to collect information on the Distortion Phenomenon in exchange for a floor plan of the former L Corp's Nest in order to complete a job for
the Thumb.
Stray Dogs
As the scene begins in the Backstreets of District 22, Dino is seen attempting to rein in Gyeong-mi's violent streak, warning him that it is risky to anger an Association like the Zwei, and that they would not be able to defend against Zwei Section 1 even on their home turf, and also that they must leave soon if they are to avoid the Night in the Backstreets and escape the Sweepers. Dino also expresses discontent over the losses they have suffered to the Church of Gears over their broken deal with Walter, and warns the group that the Thumb will destroy them if they fail their mission.
Dino becomes discouraged after witnessing Gyeong-mi smash the Zwei Fixers' corpses into a pulp out of blind rage and mutters that the Zwei would send an army of Fixers against them in retaliation. However, after he sees Gyeong-mi retrieve an Invitation from one of the Zwei corpses, he realizes that Gyeong-mi had a plan all along, despite his over-the-top brutality.
After entering the Library, Dino wonders whether they will be able to succeed and return in time to avoid the Night. Ultimately, he and the other Stray Dogs are defeated during the Reception, and he turns into the Book of Dino.
