Jack
| “ | So now Pierre and I have to pioneer a new supply chain on our own. I don’t think this is all too bad, though. I enjoy working with Pierre a lot. | ” |

Jack is the sous-chef of
Pierre’s Bistro from District 23. He cooks and prepares dishes using human flesh as the main ingredient but also hunt his ingredients with the help of the Bistro's owner Pierre when they're unable to receive any meat from their vendors.
Appearance
Jack has long black hair, slightly tanned skin, black eyes and pierced right eyebrow. He wears a long white chef suit under a leather apron and gloves along with long gray pants and black boots which all have blood stains over them. In combat, he wields a cleaver.
Personality
Jack has a calm temperament and is careful when hunting ingredients to insure that they don't get bruised and lower their quality value.
Although being a cannibal and probably a sadist, he is loyal to Pierre who he has a lot of respect for, to the point he wishes to help her achieve her dream of becoming part of 'The Eight Chefs' and tries to keep his promise to her until the end.
Story
Jack is the sous-chef of Pierre’s Bistro, a small restaurant in District 23 that uses mostly human meat. He works side-by-side with, and is unflinchingly loyal to, the head chef Pierre. In his past, Jack joined Pierre when she opened her Bistro to help her achieve her dream of joining 'The Eight Chefs', both promising that they wouldn't abandon one another.
Pierre was trying to come up with a new dish, but she is left frustrated because she is unable to do it since nothing has struck her with inspiration. Moments after, Jack enters the room bringing some "ingredients" (captured humans) with him. Both converse about how their vendors, Lil' Piggy's and
The Musicians of Bremen, stopped trading with them and that also they have to find a new place to hunt their ingredients since their old spot is now being safeguarded by the
Zwei Association. Pierre and Jack also comment about how she desires to become one of 'The Eight Chefs' and about changing some of their dishes, with Jack suggesting using more aged ingredients instead of the younger ones, but Pierre had another idea in mind.
The Bistro's owner states that she wants their dishes to have a more original flavor which she wishes to achieve by using the meat of monsters instead of human flesh. Pierre mentions the Library as the place they will seek for such ingredient since otherwise, they would have to travel to the Outskirts to get it and she reveals that she received an invitation to enter the Library a while ago. She asks Jack to join her in such adventure for monster meat, which he accepts.
While Pierre prepares to sign the Red Invitation, Jack questions her about what he should do with the ingredients he brought, she answers him saying that they should be made into meat jam and states that Jack must put them legs first, not head first in some sort of not mentioned machinery to prevent the ingredients to die too quickly claiming that the more they suffer the tastier their meat will be.
Upon being transported to the Library, Pierre comments on the place's smell and how it is brand new for her, but Jack states his dislike of said scent. The chef de cuisine affirms unfamiliarity similar to the one brought by it is what brings forth new ideas. Upon ending that conversation both are greeted by Angela. Pierre loudly comments on her exterior, saying she appears to be a wonderful-looking ingredient with a glossy appearance, Jack also says that Angela appears to be a fresh and top-grade ingredient but shows uncertainty on his remake and silently inquires Pierre about the Director of the Library. The bistro's owner confirms his suspicions by stating that she is aware that Angela is, unfortunately for them, not human, but remaking that such a fact only makes her more excited. After Angela is questioned about what her taste would be, she reveals to her guests that she can't be harmed, to which Jack replies that they will only be able to know if such a thing is the truth after testing her. Pierre decides to intervene saying that they should keep their manners to the individual that sent them the Invitation, the sous-chef apologies to the Library's Director for his rudeness. At least Pierre politely requests Angela's permission to enter the Library, which she concedes.
Eventually, Jack is defeated in the Reception along with Pierre, and is turned into the
Book of Jack.

Trivia
- Jack's movement combat sprite in the Library Of Ruina Art Book differs from the sprite that is used in-game. As such, the one reassembled below was based on the in-game sprite's positioning rather than the artbook sprite's.
- Jack's combat sprite for Block dice shows him licking his lips, which does not appear anywhere else. It is normally hidden behind his knife, but can be viewed in the modified sprite below.
