My scales always show clear verdict; I can make sound judgement with it…

The suppression of Judgement Bird is the third Abnormality battle on the BinahIcon.pngFloor of Philosophy. It can be unlocked in StarCityIcon.png Star of the City by obtaining the , RCorpIcon.png Book of Nikolai, and the RCorpIcon.png Book of Myo. Completing it raises the floor's Realization Level to IV and unlocks a fifth librarian on its Floor, as well as new Abnormality Pages (see below).

Overview

Formation

  • Judgement Bird ×1
  • Runaway Bird ×3

Strategy

All characters excluding Judgement Bird gain 1 SinIcon.pngSin at the start of the Scene, which can be passed onto other characters (including allies) by damaging them with attacks. If any character has 5 or more SinIcon.pngSin, Judgement Bird will attempt to instantly kill them with Judgement. If three or more characters (allies and enemies) have 3+ stacks of SinIcon.pngSin, Judgement Bird will instantly kill them all with Ceaseless Judgement. Using either of these cards makes Judgment Bird lose 20% of Max. Stagger Resist.

  • Stack all SinIcon.pngSin into an ally and redirect Judgement to protect them.
    • Binah is a good candidate for this since she resists slash damage and FairyIcon.pngFairy would damage allies too much, but any Key Page with a resisted attribute will do.
    • An Udjat’s Page is another good candidate, since they resist blunt and passively stack protection with SkillPurpleIcon.png Hawk's Eye.
  • Cards with counter dice help defend against Runaway Bird attacks.

Behavior

"Overflowing Misdeeds" erroneously states that Judgement Bird loses 25% of its Stagger Resist after using its special Combat Pages. The actual amount of Stagger lost is only 20%. This mistake is not present in the original Korean text.

Abnormalities (floating text)

Screen
Judgement Bird
Normal:
  • "Beasts will ransack this forest… I can’t let anyone be eaten by them…"
  • "I’ll protect this forest with the creatures living with us…"
  • "The forest will return to peace… We should make it happen…"

  • "Let me weigh your sins…"

Runaway Birds

  • "The Big Bird is always watching the creatures of the forest, there’s no freedom."
  • "The Long Bird’s scale isn’t fair at all."
  • "The Small Bird’s punishment is so scary."

Librarians

Librarians
Binah:
Combat Entrance
  • "How curious. To face a being lying dormant within a book in such a way…"

On Kill

  • "You have done well. Let us return and take a break."

Assistants:
Combat Entrance

  • "It is supposedly weakened… But we shouldn’t let our guard down nonetheless."
  • "Its scale was always tilted to one side, I wasn’t sure if its judgement could be trusted…"
  • "The sound of its scale tilting used to give me the chills."

On Kill

  • "What does it mean to be fair, really?"
  • "Like the other birds we met, its motives might have been innocent."
  • "Justice… What is justice, I wonder."

Abnormality Pages

By completing the suppression of Judgement Bird, the player acquires the following Abnormality Pages.

Abnormality Pages
Name Description Floating Text
Lv Ⅰ   CoinNegativeIcon.png0
Abnopage TheWeightofSin.png
The Weight of Sin
[Single Ally]
Whenever a die this librarian plays rolls the minimum value, take 2-7 damage and gain 1-2 Strength and Endurance next Scene.

Its scale would never neglect the weight of even the smallest sin.

  • Time to weigh your sins.
  • I won’t neglect the weight of any sin.
  • The weight of your sins will determine the weight of your punishment.
Lv Ⅱ   CoinPositiveIcon.png1
Abnopage TiltedScale.png
Tilted Scale
[Single Ally]
After attacking the enemy with the most HP, recover the HP of the ally with the least HP by 2-8. (3 times per Scene, Excludes Mass Attacks)

All that remains is the unjust scale. The long bird continues on, doling out judgement.

  • This scale always yields a clear verdict; I can make sound, precise judgement with it.
  • My subjective views might affect fair judgement.
  • What if the scale doesn’t tip in either direction someday…? I can’t let that happen.
  • My scale won’t cease its duty until the day all evil beings disappear.
Lv Ⅱ   CoinNegativeIcon.png-2
Abnopage Judgement.png
Judgement
[Single Ally]
At the start of the Scene, all characters gain 1 Sin at a 50% chance.
If a character has 5+ Sin, they take damage equal to 10% of their Max. HP at the start of the Scene, and all Sin is removed from them.
Sin can be transferred to another character by attacking and damaging them. (Once per page)

Then somebody said, “But what if the scale doesn’t tip in either direction someday?” Worried, Long Bird made a scale that always tipped to one side. That way every judgement would yield a clear verdict.

  • When I lift this scale, I wish for immortality upon the guilty.
  • I will pass fair judgement upon all, marking out the misdeeds…
  • To protect the forest, I’ll lift the scale. Eternal judgement shall be delivered to them.
  • To judge all the beasts that live in this forest…
