For a full coverage of the contents of Leviathan, see its article on the Limbus Company Wiki. This current page exists mainly to note any direct connections the story makes to the events and characters seen in Library of Ruina.
Synopsis
The story centers on the Color Fixer Vergilius, the Red Gaze, who suffers a personal tragedy from an incident related to the dispersal of the Library's Light as occurred during the ending of Library of Ruina. In the aftermath, Vergilius is notified that Lapis, one of the few survivors of the incident, has gone missing. The rest of the story revolves around Vergilius' investigation, which brings him and his Fixer subordinates into conflict with the Ring and their experiments, and ultimately ends with his recruitment to Limbus Company, serving as a prequel to the eponymous game.
Connections to Library of Ruina
Leviathan is an informal sequel of sorts to Library of Ruina, showing the aftermath of Angela's decision to release the Light she collected alongside all of the Library's booked guests back into the City. In particular, Tomerry and Iori are shown to have returned in Chapter 1, with Tomerry still in its mutated form rather than being restored back to Tommy and Merry. Tomerry is the cause of Vergilius' personal tragedy, as it destroys the orphanage he helped found, killing many of the children and staff in the process; Vergilius defends the survivors but is prevented from killing Tomerry by Iori, who claims to need Tomerry for her own purposes.
