–Mars

Mars is a Fixer of the StreetlightOfficeIcon.png Streetlight Office. He first appears in the same Chapter, Episode 1.

Appearance

Mars has short white hair, light skin and red eyes. He wears a white dress shirt under a black vest with a gray tie, a grayish blue jacket with two small belts on the right arm, and black fingerless gloves. On his lower half, Mars has gray pants and brown shoes. In combat, he uses a rectangular metallic greatsword given to him by his mother.

Personality

Mars has a calm temperament, maintaining his cool while Lulu made a great fuss over him disposing of her cake even though it would expire that day. On the inside, Mars tends to hold in and hide some of his feelings, be it sadness when he did not meet other's expectations or his romantic feelings for Lulu.

Story

Mars has been part of the StreetlightOfficeIcon.png Streetlight Office for an unspecified amount of time.

Mars' mother was a legendary Fixer, and he was usually targeted by Syndicates that opposed his mother, and was faced with high expectations put upon him by her acquaintances. Although he worked hard and shed many tears, Mars never managed to become anything more than an average and ordinary Fixer with no great talents. As such, he entered an average and ordinary Office, the StreetlightOfficeIcon.png Streetlight Office. Even though his mother was proud of him and his achievements, Mars himself was extremely disappointed with his own failure and then left without making eye contact until they said their farewells and Mars left.

In the first Episode of StreetlightOfficeIcon.png Streetlight Office, Mars and Lulu are in their office, with Lulu starting wondering why their Office is unpopular with clients even when they are associated with the ZweiAssociationIcon.png Zwei and have a 0% crime rate in their secured areas, with Mars pointing out that they just cover two blocks of space. Regardless, they will get work eventually but Lulu is thinking in moving to other Office if they keep waiting. Mars says that he doesn't think she has what it takes to work for a bigger Office, but Lulu respond that she has business connections. She then brings up that his Legendary Fixer mother is too busy while Lulu has friends who can help her. Mars sarcastically replies she is a great Fixer, and Lulu just digs on it.

San arrives afterwards with work, while Lulu starts to argue with Mars because he disposed of her cake of the fridge, saying that it already expired. After San settles in buying another cake for Lulu, he talks about their unofficial work from a friend in the Association. Lulu ask if is the Fixer who works directly under the Association and San confirms it. San explains that this task has yet to be officially addressed by the Hana Association, asking soon after if they know about the Library. Mars and Lulu knows some stories of it that were overheard from the RatsIcon.png Rats, saying that had very valuable books. San then tells that he retrieved an invitation from his friend, although they start to question the risk of it as they don't know much about it and will not count for their career, as well they might not gain as much money even with San saying that his Associate friend will promise for an Urban-Legend payment. San start to cave in that was a bad idea after all, but Mars and Lulu agree in going, now that they need money, and will do their best.

After signing the Invitation and entering the Library, Mars and Lulu begin to argue again over taking the work. San has to interrupt and settle them down again by offering to eat in Juli's restaurant once is over and that he will pay for. Afterwards, Angela arrives and notes the conversation of them. They get wary but Angela reassures that the ordeal hasn't started yet. She present herself and San greets her, asking that if they are still able to enter since he borrowed the Invitation from someone else. Angela clarify that it eventually reached to him and they signed it with their names, so it worked as intended. Angela leaves but Lulu notices that she wasn't human, but a machine. San reminds them to stay aware and back up when gets too dangerous, and the fixers enter the Library.

Eventually, Mars perishes in the Reception alone while Lulu and San escape the Library, and he turns into the StreetlightOfficeIcon.png Book of Mars which contains his Key Page.

Key Page story

Mars’ Page
Mars’ Page

My mother was a Fixer with a high grade that every one of my peers would dream of reaching. She was the envy of all, a radiant individual who received endless supplies of various expensive equipment and garnered constant recruit offers from other Offices. Does that mean I had a safe, comfortable childhood under the care and wealth of such a wonderful person? Had that been the case, I would’ve earned a position in one of the Wings already. Being the son of a high-rank Fixer, I was often targeted by Syndicates opposing her, and my mother’s acquaintances held high expectations for me.

At first, I was okay with their expectations. I was already dreaming to follow the path of my mother. In fact, I was hoping to live up to it and hear compliments such as “I knew you could make it!” from others. “Yes. I’m going to become a great Fixer just like my mother. Then she’ll be proud of me one day, right? She’ll proudly say ‘That's my boy’, in front of others.” I studied hard day after day, taking no breaks in-between… Countless times, I held my sword with a strong resolve, and many days I spent weeping alone. Even if I faced setbacks and failures, I believed I could overcome them and stand strong like the protagonist of a movie. As if I could actually be someone great.

But in the end, I grew into an ordinary aspiring Fixer, and I learned that I was only an average person with no talent to show off. When I entered an ordinary Office with my ordinary capabilities, my mother seemed very glad to hear the news. She said an associate Office of the Zwei is a good start, and that I’ll certainly be able to become successful if I work my way up slowly. However, I was greatly disappointed in myself, and I couldn’t look my mother in the eyes until I said my final goodbyes and left the house.

Combat Dialogue
Combat Entrance
  • Let’s keep it cool and do this.
  • This sword may look ridiculously big, but I have no problem wielding it in battle.
  • Huh, I heard they’re monsters, but they look just like ordinary humans.
Victory Cry
  • The value of a sword all depends on who uses it.
  • See that, boss? I was much faster than that raging pea-hair.
Death
  • I thought I could make it if I tried a little harder…
  • Maybe I should’ve told her how I feel.
On Kill
  • You guys are just flailing around like idiots, don’t you see?
  • Piece of cake. Lulu is such a crybaby about it.
  • Too slow. I could see right through your moves.
