Moirai (모이라이, Moilai) is a Weaver of 
The Index. She first appears in 
얀샋ㄷ요무 Episode 1.
Appearance
Moirai has a short, chestnut brown hair with a midpart along her left ear. She wears a black, gown with a fingerless evening gloves, topped with a white hooded Index cloak and a golden clasp, and black boots.
Personality
Moirai has a carefree attitude, as shown when she welcomed Yan in the facility and her response to his confrontation about the brutal state of the Prescripts.
Story
Moirai is introduced in 얀샋ㄷ요무 Episode 1, as Yan's final Prescript led him to an underground facility within a room with a staircase. She greets Yan and introduces herself as a Weaver in charge of the facility, revealed to be the birthplace of the Prescripts. Moirai then demonstrates and explains how the Prescripts are made: every vibrations of sound made--from the beating of someone's heart and thuds from a falling person, to quakes in construction sites and echoes of peoples' screams--moves the pendulum. As the pendulum swings, Moirai manages the production by spinning the wheels and applying thread on it to create a fabric for the pendulum to transcribe into one of the City's languages. After the Prescript is made, it is transported through one of the many golden pipes to the recipient at the surface.
Trivia
- Moirai is named after the Greek Goddesses of Fate: sisters who weave the destiny of mankind through spinning their threads of fate on their spindles.
