If I punish people for their misdeeds, the world will become a peaceful place!

The suppression of Punishing Bird is the second Abnormality battle on the BinahIcon.pngFloor of Philosophy. It can be unlocked in StarCityIcon.png Star of the City by obtaining the LiuAssociationIcon.png Book of Liu Association Section 1 and the LiuAssociationIcon.png Book of Chun. Completing it raises the floor's Realization Level to III and unlocks new Abnormality Pages (see below).

Overview

Formation

  • Punishing Bird ×1
  • Keeper of the Black Forest ×3

Strategy

If damaged, Punishing Bird uses Punishment! on the librarian that attacked it the Scene before, likely killing them. Killing a Keeper of the Black Forest will give the card Forest Keeper’s Lock to the librarian's hand, allowing them to dodge the attack. When this is done 3 times, the suppression is won.

  • Mind that the Keepers of the Black Forest resist all but Blunt damage.
  • ProtectionIcon.png Protection and SkillPurpleIcon.png Grit mitigate the chip damage dealt by Punishing Bird every scene.
  • Avoid using cards with offensive counter dice as to not damage Punishing Bird inopportunely.

Trivia

  • Punishing Bird, Big Bird and Judgement Bird share the exact same background, referencing their common origins in the Black Forest.
  • Despite being a fully fightable entity in its fight, Punishing Bird's suppression does not require its defeat. It shares this trait with Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary and The Servant of Wrath, although these two both require the defeat of a specific entity.
