"If everyone threw their bodies into me, it’ll certainly create an even sweeter melody…"
- Singing Machine

Singing Machine' is an Abnormality Enemy, being the third Abnormality Battle on the Floor of Technological Sciences.
Defeating Singing Machine will make YesodIcon.png Yesod's Floor level up to Level 4 and provide its 3 Abnormality Pages: CoinNegativeIcon.png Music, CoinNegativeIcon.png Rhythm, and CoinNegativeIcon.png Musical Addiction.

Singing Machine's stage is composed of a large gray room with a planked floor, and several barred windows along the walls. At the middle of the wall of the background is a doorway. Six blood-stained copies of the Singing Machine are present on the left and right sides of the room.

Singing Machine is an enemy with the appearance of a large rectangular industrial meat grinder. A black circular joint is present on the front of the machine, dividing the lid from the bottom. Two small pipes protrude from the exterior, one from the side, and the other from the top of the lid. The interior is lined with sawblades which can be seen when the lid is lifted. The enemy resembles the respective Abnormality from the prequel game, Lobotomy Corporation. It has 500 HPIcon.png HP and 500 StaggerIcon.png Stagger. It cannot be targeted and does not act, and is only defeated when its allies die.

Addicted Employee is an enemy that resembles a distorted humanoid, with jagged limbs that lack hands or feet. They have large yellow eyes with pupils shaped like music notes, and possess a wide grin. They each wield a riot stick. Three Addicted Employees accompany the Singing Machine. Each has 120 HPIcon.png HP and 60 StaggerIcon.png Stagger. They have 1 SpeedIcon.png Speed Dice of 2~5 and start at 3 LightIcon.png Lights.

Singing Machine does not possess any cards. It has 2 Passive Abilities:

  • AbnormalityAbilityIcon.png The Machine that Sings: Cannot be targeted. Does not act. Takes no damage.
  • AbnormalityAbilityIcon.png Performance: On the Scene after 'I CRAVE that Melody!' is activated, plays music using the character in the machine. The character takes damage equal to 30% of their HPIcon.png Max HP and is excluded from battle for that Scene. While the music is playing, all characters gain 5 StrengthIcon.png Strength and all Stagger resistances change to 'Fatal'.

The Addicted Employees use Decks with 4 Abnormality Exclusive Combat Pages. They have only 1 Passive Ability:

  • AbnormalityAbilityIcon.png I CRAVE that Melody!: Every 2 Scenes, gain an extra DiceSlotIcon.png Speed die and use a different set of Combat pages. If DiceBrokenIcon.png staggered while this is active, gets put into the machine at the start of the next Scene.

 Behavior and Decks

The Addicted Employees will use Trembling Motion and Shaking Blow to weaken and slow down their foes. Once 'I CRAVE that Melody!' is activated, each Addicted Employee will use both Hear this Beautiful Sound! and Pine for the Song!!, which may overwhelm the Librarians. If an Addicted Employee hits a target with Pine for the Song!!, the target will be put into the Singing Machine and will only return at the end of the next Scene, granted they do not die. If an Addicted Employee is staggered during the Scene, and no Librarian has been put into the machine, they will be put into the machine instead.

The Scene after 'I CRAVE that Melody!' is activated, both sides will benefit from stronger Offensive dice, while being susceptible to being DiceBrokenIcon.png Staggered, as long as any character was put into the machine. Otherwise, the battle will continue as normal.

When 'I CRAVE that Melody!' is activated, the Singing Machine's lid will open with a creak and panting can be heard. The screen will have a blinking, yellow filter at the borders as various music notes appear across the screen. When a character is put into the Singing Machine, a close-up of the machine, stained with blood, will briefly fill the screen. In the following Scene, blood will be gushing out from the machine and splatter across the screen. The sounds of the machine operating on the character, and the music subsequently produced, can be heard.

Trivia

  • Singing Machine appeared in the prequel game, Lobotomy Corporation, as a HE Abnormality with the same appearance.
  • The Addicted Employees possess the same facial features as the 'Bewitched' employees from Lobotomy Corporation. Their weapons also resemble the default weapon from the game, the 'Standard Riot Stick'.
