Bloodfiends (혈귀, Hyeolgwi), are a type of Distortion that predated the White Nights and Dark Days incident, having existed before the Distortion Phenomenon and caused much havoc within the City before the events of Library of Ruina.
Description
Origins
In Distortion Detective, we meet Larierre, a Bloodfiend elder that gives us some backstory to the origin of Bloodfiends. It is mentioned that they become part of the "lineage" after they received blood in a "certain mansion", and that their existence long predates the events of both Library of Ruina and Lobotomy Corporation.
Bloodfiends seem to have been present in the City for a long time, with no solid measure of how long they have been around. Their existence was not widely known until The Blood-red Night became a Star of the City due to Bloodfiend communities keeping their kin in check to try keep balance while also trying to satiate their thirst without harming those they feed from.
After The Dark Days
The Dark Days brought a new lineage of Bloodfiends, those born from the Distortion Phenomenon, which seem to be more aggressive than those origially existing, likely as a result of both giving in to their desires and not being under the guidance of a community. Pre-existing communities appear to fear their Distorted counterparts for the attention they would bring to their kind, the havoc they could cause and the possibility of them usurping their feeding grounds.
Overview
Bloodfiends operate within a hierarchy and refer to themselves as Kindreds. The older a bloodfiend is, the more powerful they are. With the first bloodfiend being the most powerful degrading chronologically throughout generations. Bloodfiend elders have supreme authority over their community due to their strength. Bloodfiends have the ability to manipulate blood and reanimate the dead in a zombie-like state, referred to as Bloodbags, as well has having regeneration abilities which allow them to easily heal off any damage sustained. A bloodfiend can transform a regular person into a bloodfiend by biting them on the neck, in which case they could become apart of the next generation and be weaker than the one who bit them.

Trivia
- The Abnormality Nosferatu shares similarities to Bloodfiends.
- Coincidentally, Bloodfiends also share the Korean name (혈귀) for Bloodseekers from Dota 2.
- Bloodfiends may be inspired by the Vampires in Vampire: the Masquerade; their behaviors and how they are referred to by themselves (Kindred) mimic Vampires fromVtM, as well as their difference in power because of a factor of generation.
