R Corp. is one of the 26 Wings of the City advertising themselves as a mass-producer for elite mercenary units, such as the Fourth Pack comprising of the Rabbits, Rhinos, Reindeer, and Ravens. The captains of the Fourth Pack, Myo of the Rabbits, Maxim of the Rhinos, and Rudolph of the Reindeer, are led to the Library by their commander, Nikolai, on a mission to retrieve the books of the WARP Cleanup Crew to preserve W Corp's secret. They are the 33rd group of guests to the library, taking up chapter 2.4 of Star of the City.
The encounters with the R. Corp take place over the course of two chapters. The first chapter has a total of 15 enemies, 4 of which are named and 11 of which are generic and identical. Following that, the second chapter has a total of 19 enemies, 4 of which are named and 15 of which are generic and identical.
Each chapter has different requirements to be Invited. Both chapters can have up to 5 librarians participate in the reception, and up to 2 floors can participate on each.
Chapter 1, R Corp. Ⅰ, requires the Book of the WARP Cleanup Crew and Book of Nemo to invite. Three acts take place during this reception. Act 1 consists of Rudolph and four Reindeers. Act 2 consists of Maxim and four Rhinos. Act 3 consists of Myo, Nikolai, and three rabbits.
Chapter 2, R Corp. Ⅱ, requires the Book of theReindeer Team,Book of the Rhino Team, and Book of the Rabbit Team to invite. Four acts take place during this reception. Act 1 consists of Rudolph and four Reindeers. Act 2 consists of Maxim and four Rhinos. Act 3 consists of Myo and four Rabbits. During the first three acts, the named captains will flee the fight after falling to 70 HP. In the fourth act, Myo, Rudolph, and Maxim return alongside Nikolai. The fourth act is the only time the captains' unique Mass Attacks will be used.
Leader of the Rabbit team. Much like in Lobotomy Corporation, she is proud to nigh-arrogance of her team. Wields a large submachine gun and a shortsword in combat.
Leader of the Reindeer team. He is more reserved and the most worried about his team facing termination, though he's still about as proud as Myo. Wields a quarterstaff with reindeer antlers in combat.
Leader of the Rhino Team, specializes on close-quarters combat. He is the most easygoing of the captains, usually poking fun at the other two in their arguments.
Wields a gigantic set of armor and a large maul in combat.
The scene is introduced to an annoyed Myo, captain of the Rabbit pack, verbally bashing Rudolph, captainof the reindeer pack, for his incompetent utilization of her rabbit to which Rudolph retorts as aggressively as Myo on the incompetence of her team. The two seem close to a physical altercation, not helped by the captain of the Rhino, Maxim, egging Myo on with her aggression. Suddenly, the trio bickering is shut down by the commander, Nikolai, as she announces that the Fourth Pack will be deployed to L Nest. Agitated by the information, Myo demands a reason of their involvement to which Nikolai further explain that the captain will have to go to the Library or risk the whole group's being culled. Rudolph, who before then responded to Nikolai's news much more calmly than Myo, further ask why they are not getting another chance like the countless other times they been in danger. Maxim chimes in that it was inevitable that they would be sent to the gutter as it was the specific purpose of the Fourth pack to be organized for L Nest, leaving a delima in the wake. Rudolph and Myo further lament to no avail. Nikolai continues to further explain that it was the sole duty of Fourth Pack to prevent the collapse of L Corp. she also acknowledges that W Corps. singularity being in jeopardy is given further incentive. Nikolai puts the focus on Myo in regards to Molar Office to which Myo claims that they must have been in a hurry and rushed to the Library. Nikolai further presses on as to why Molar Office has decided to take a Warp train, which Maxim adds that even if Molar Office did take such a destination, why didn't they take a First Class seat? Myo can only cough up the excuse that she had no financial investment to put the Molar Office Trio to First Class for such a trivial task as an Urban Legend. The three captains stars to bicker once more at the situation on the WARP train and why W Corp. would be so worried about a "few" passengers being missing. Finally, Rudolph concludes that the situation is severe enough to include the First Class passenger; Nikolai further reinforces that their life is on the line to protect W Corp., T Corp., and L Corp. singularity which the others begrudgery accept. At the last moment, Myo jabs at W Corp. and T Corp. at the absurdity of their singularity to which Nikolai shuts Myo up.
Back at the Library, a panicked Roland is seen at the revelation that R Corp has deployed units to deal with the Library though Angela seems to not mind it. Though she does apologies only seeing Rabbit pack in action as they were the only option in the underground facility due the other two packs capacity to deal unnecessary harm to the facility and manager alike.
We are cut back to Nikolai and the captain Triad, with Maxim and Rudolph in particular feeling uneasy. On the other hand, Myo could barely hold her excitmenet to "Graze the Grass" though Nikolai shuts her up once more. As Nikolai introduced herself to Angela's presence, Myo couldn't help but comment that Angela had to have a part in the collapse on L Corp to which Angela retorted by notifying Myo to know when to shut her mouth. Through the bickering, Angela was able to shut Myo up by mentioning that she may have been involved in the disappearance of the Red Mist. Nikolai, fed up with Myo's chatterness, simply ask Angela to guide them in.
They are later booked.
Chapter 2:
Nikolai, Maxim and Rudolph are observing Myo being brought back with R Corps "Hatchery" technology. Maxim asks if the others want to bet on which Myo wins, to which Rudolph responds that he's surprised that Maxim is still not sick of the Hatcheries, remarking that even though he dislikes Myo, heintroducedike to see her in the Hatchery. Two T Corp researchers who are running the Hatchery say that running a single day at 100 times speed will cost a lot of energy, and that Nikolai usually gives them a week to run the Hatchery. Nikolai responds by saying that they cannot wait any longer to recover Myo. Maxim and Rudolph remark about how the inside of the Hatchery will experience three months, and that there are five thousand clones of Myo currently fighting to the death. However, Maxim says that he had had to fight ten thousand clones over a year in the Hatchery, and that its much easier this time. The T Corp Researchers proceed to explain the terms and conditions of the Hatcheries, saying that per A Corp's rules, multiple of someone can only exist for 7 days before being R Corp would be shut down by B Corp. Therefore, as the timer is for the time that A Corp experiences, the Hatcheries are using T Corp's singularity to allow for more combat time between the clones. One of them then says that because of L Corp's sudden shutdown, Nikolai has to use the Hatcheries less often, and that W Corp is facing similar problems. Nikolai says that the Supreme Commander told her that L Corp's energy agreement with R Corp was extremely generous. The T Corp researchers then say that because of the energy situation, this is the last time the Fourth Pack can hatch, and if they die this time, they can't come back. The last two Myos in the Hatchery, #17 and #625, then proceed to battle, with #625 prevailing and walking into the room where the rest of the Fourth Pack captains were watching from. Rudolph greets Myo, to her astonishment, but then asks if Rudolph and Maxim had made another bet. Rudolph says that Maxim owes him a drink, with Maxim complaining about how #17 had seemed superior. Myo then asks Maxim if he's paying for her drink as well, with Maxim saying yes. They then proceed to head to the Library.
Back at the Library, Roland is surprised to learn the nature of R Corps singularity, and that there is human cloning technology. Angela is reminded of how Ayin created the Sephirah by cloning his colleagues and wonders why he would take that risk with what rules the Head had put in place. Roland says that it may have simply been that it was the best option for him at the time.
At the Library's entrance, the captains have a nearly identical conversation to that of the first time they came, with Angela bringing it up to Nikolai, who hadn't realized. Angela asks if Myo had any problems with killing hundreds of clones of herself, which prompts Nikolai to ask how much she knows. Angela proceeds to wonder how they haven't gone insane after going through the Hatching process. Nikolai says that it may seem that way to a fragile and sheltered being, but they had experienced much worse in their lives beforehand. Angela gets angry from their remarks about her life, to which Myo says that they should simply go in already, because she doesn't care or have the time to listen to Angela's life. Angela remarks that that is the way of the City, with Nikolai agreeing.
