Noah (노아, Noa) was an employee of J Corp. before leaving the company to join The 8 o’Clock Circus with his partner, Emma. He first appears in the story of the 8 o'Clock Circus' reception.

Appearance

Noah has pale skin, long black-purpleish hair tied up and appears to be quite short in stature. He wears a long brown coat embellished with various pockets and straps, much like the coat Emma wears, likely being a part of their uniform from J Corp. Underneath his coat, he wears a black sweater that reaches up to his neck, as well as a pair of plain back trousers and combat boots.

Personality

Noah has a very pessimistic outlook to life, lamenting about his mistakes in J Corp. and expecting termination from his job because of it. He strongly dislikes J Corp. and aspires to "watch the world and the skies from a higher place", rather than "stare at boring screens" given that he has worked his way up from the Backstreets. He smokes, likely as a consequence of his mundane and occasionally stressful life. He seems to hold some resentment against Emma for being more fortunate financially, and being more stable in life, though this does not undermine his friendship, as he relies on him for moral support and companionship as evidenced by his decision to take Emma with him for a smoke break after a work incident, as well as being a friend of 5 years. This dependency and aspiration for higher things culminates in the 8 o'Clock Circus.

Story

After entering The 8 o'Clock Circus tent with Emma, Noah reflects on his life as a corporate drone with chagrin and resolves to join the circus. After being sedated, Noah comes to wake up with Emma's eyes grafted onto him, and his legs grafted onto Emma, as a way to see the world from 'new heights' as Noah wished prior. After this transformation, Noah and Emma travel to the library at Oswald's behest, and attempt to retrieve books for their new boss. As well as their physical bodies, their mindsets also change to be more hedonistic, promising Angela's 'cold stare' will change into a 'hearty smile' once they retrieve some books.

J Corp. owns the Nest of gambling. Every person here devotes their life to those insane games of chance. Emma and I check the security cameras placed in affiliated facilities and spot anyone who cheats. We get hundreds of calls each day. Please check if the person in a dark red coat at N-9281-R231 used a sleight of hand to switch cards, I think my table was rigged at Q-198-OF1929, I think they’re using marbles that weigh 0.1g more in the roulettes at K-1928-R029, etc… A variety of creative and absurd calls flood the lines all the time. What’s so difficult about watching the security feed all day, you ask? Sure, you could think that if you’re unfamiliar with how things work here. But imagine having to check the feeds for tens and even hundreds of rooms that have ten cams each. The workload is spread over multiple people, of course, but each of us still has dozens of screens to stare at, it makes my eyes spin like a top. Besides, some people are sneaky enough to pull trickery off camera, and some incidents might occur during maintenance hours. This job is such a busy one, two eyes just aren’t enough. When you’re checking one case, another call comes in, when you’re done checking that, more calls wait for you… The shortage of manpower is driving me crazy, I swear.
